Sometimes decorating a christmas tree can seem so complicated that you feel like singing “Uh oh christmas tree” rather than “Oh christmas tree. Whether you are decorating a natural evergreen or an artificial tree here are some tips for making the entire experience a little less disorganized.

Did you just strip everything off the tree and throw it in a box? Are your christmas tree lights all gnarled up into a snarl? end up with a bad case of Uh oh christmas tree. I am sure you have heard of that old saying “as it begins, so it ends and so it begins again.” This applies to decorating a christmas tree as well. This year, you are going to swear to pack up everything in an organized way so that you don’t waste time sorting through damaged ornaments and piles of old tinsel.

Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of being in “The Zone!” Personally, I’ve got to say that it was nice being there. Just what is “The Zone”?

Well, you’ve heard of athletes talk about being in “The Zone” - that magical place where everything clicks. The physical and mental processes are working in coordination, and everything happens just right. In any athletic, competitive sport, the professional athlete trains and works hard for those special moments. With a golfer, it’s that moment when the stance of the body, the grip on the golf club, the position of the ball on the tee is just right. The golfer looks down the fairway and visualizes the flight path of the ball, the distance, and where

the ball is going to land. The golfer looks back down at the ball and finds that split second of absolute peace and focus. The golfer swings the perfect arch and position of the arms, and then brings the club back down toward the ball. The face of the club strikes the ball at the perfect position and the ball follows the same path the golfer visualized. That is what it’s like to be in “The Zone!”

Just because you re too busy to travel all the way to Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick s Day doesn t mean that you can t have a good time celebrating Irish traditions. Chicago, New York City, Sydney, and even Tokyo have their own ways to celebrate the St. Patrick s Day holiday. What began as the feast of Ireland s patron saint has now grown into one of the biggest holidays celebrated anywhere in the world.

Up until 2002, St. Patrick s Day in Ireland was celebrated as more of a religious holiday, the way it used to be in the old days. Following the hoof and mouth disease scare that canceled parades in 2001, Dublin decided they should

embrace the gimmicky shamrocks and green beer to help boost tourism. The 5-day Dublin St. Patrick s Day festival is now the largest St. Patrick s Day celebration in the country and has an attendance of over 700,000 people for parade day alone.

Halloween is a favorite holiday for kids. They love being able to dress in costumes, carve pumpkins and attend a party. A Halloween party idea for school age kids includes playing fun games. I have listed several fun games that you can play either at a school or home party.

The mummy wrap game calls for teams of four kids. One will become the mummy and the other three will wrap him or her in toilet paper. This is a timed game, so a loud kitchen timer works great. Give each team several rolls of toilet paper; set the timer for a couple of minutes and say GO. When the timer rings or

you stay STOP, the team with the mummy who is wrapped the most is the winner.
